As we grow older skin begins to lose elasticity and volume. The formation of dynamic lines and wrinkles is the repeated activity of the underlying muscles. Laughing , smiling and frowning cause these dynamic lines to appear. Common types of dynamic lines are the Crows feet (lines around the outer corner of the eye) and Glabellar frown lines (lines between the eyebrows). These eventually become static lines that are visible without muscle activity.
The treatment acts on the nerve endings in facial muscles and prevents them from contracting. The reduction in muscle activity temporarily softens the lines in the face, giving a refreshed appearance.
Normal activity can be resumed immediately following treatment, however, it is recommended to avoid strenuous exercise, sun exposure and alcohol consumption for 24 hours following treatment. Retreatment will be required around 4 months after initial treatment. However the duration of effect will vary between individuals.
